We loved spending the day friends exploring Stone Barns. It’s on the same property as Blue Hill restaurant which is quite the culinary experience. We did a tasting there for my 30th birthday. I basically chose between a weekend away or dinner at Blue Hill, just to give you some reference around price. I would definitely call myself a foodie….more so from our NYC days so it was well worth it.

What’s great is that even if Blue Hill is not of interest to you, you can still enjoy their incredible setting which is on Stone Barns. It is such a beautiful property. There is not a ton of set activities for children on a normal weekend but the space is perfect for kids. You can still get a taste of Blue Hill on a casual level at the delicious Blue Hill market, which is set perfectly next to a huge area where the kids can ride scooters and play…bring balls! If there is no room at the market you can also head over to the garden where there are picnic tables throughout.

We then took a walk to go explore and saw cows, sheep, a sheepdog + chickens. You could be in Ireland it’s so pretty. We were there for three hours, the perfect amount of time. It is $22 an adult but only $90 for an annual membership. We will go back so it was worth it to just purchase the annual.

On our way home I realized the event we were supposed to be at around 4 o’clock was black and white cocktail attire….not ideal because the only black dress I have is a gown. I had 10 minutes to run into Zara in Greenwich and find something. I blindly bought the outfit below and I can’t recommend it enough. I had these pants in a smaller size and they were too tight…. these are sz 4 and fit like a glove. I absolutely love the shape. A little casual for cocktail attire but we are in the suburbs so …… anything goes…right?

I spent way too long looking at the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I compiled some of my top picks. If you find items that are sold out just check back because many items will be restocked. This is a GREAT opportunity to buy baby gear and classic women's pieces that won't go out of style. 

My top pick for kids is the NUNA carseat and native shoes. I am a huge fan of both. We LOVE our Nuna car seat. I have both the infant and convertible carseats. I can switch both from car to car in less than 5 minutes.

For women my top three picks are the Emerson boy friend jeans, the Soludos flats, and the Ugg wedge booties. I have two pairs of the Emerson jeans (I've had them for years & they my fav.) I got ton of use out of both the Soludos flats and Ugg booties. I highly recommend all three of these products.

With Father's Day right around the corner, I figured now would be a great time to think about what we should get Ray for his day. With a 19 month old and a 7 week old,  by "WE", I really mean "I".  Ray is such a great dad.  I’m sure most of you probably feel the same way about the dad in your life if you are reading this Father's Day gift guide. I literally count down the minutes until 6:00 when Ray gets home everyday. He gets a very fun phone call/text everyday at 4:30..."so when are you going to be home?" Nope. That's not annoying at all :) Right when he walks through the door, he is "ON." He does the entire bedtime routine with Charlie every night. More important than being present in our day to day life is how I can always rely on him no matter what. For the big things and the little things, he always delivers. Juggling two babies under two is not easy and I can confidently say he makes me feel like we have this parenting thing completely under control...just kidding. He does make me feel like I chose a spouse that will always be in our children's lives, not just physically, but also emotionally, everyday. When thinking about marriage, a non-negotiable (yes, I had non-negotiables) was someone that would have their own strong relationship with our children, a truly involved Dad that would be in our children's lives more than "How was school today?”  When I met Ray, I not only fell in love with him but also knew he would be the kind of father that I wanted for my children.

So, he deserves a little better than an OK gift on Father's Day. 

FOR THE GUY WHO MIGHT BE IN PAIN

Ray has a terrible back. RIght before I delivered Ford he actually threw it out and ended up in the hospital. I blame it on working a 6-6 job and sitting in a chair at the computer for the last 14 years. That being said, his back is in need of some TLC. I'm getting Ray a gift card to, Indigo Acupunture + Wellness. Acupuncture can help your body heal itself from many issues including acute and chronic pain. This is the perfect gift for the husband that could benefit from something like this, but might not make an appointment on his own. I had to learn more! There are companies that can ship you the entire kit to get started and there are YouTube videos for needle point for beginners.  The best part is that YOU get to pick out symbols to put on the belt that best describes your dad/husband. This could also be a fun family project because your kids can also pick out symbols that describe dad. If you don't have the time to actually needlepoint, then you can have the belt custom made....a little white lie never hurt anyone.

FOR A FUN GIFT FROM THE KIDS

You know those really cool prints that are thousands of dollars and literally look like your kids  accidentally spilled milk all over them? Me too! So why not just create that and frame it? I love the side by side ones. All you need is non toxic paint, 2 large pieces of textured paper and 2 frames. You could have the kids squirt bottles full of paint on the paper. Do one color and let it dry. I would stick to three colors in the same color family. After the paper dries you can then hang them up on father’s day morning before dad wakes up!

The meat comes vacuumed sealed in individual cuts just like the grocery store. If freezer space is an issue you can split the cow or pig with someone else. I happen to do a cow share with my parents. We had a wonderful weekend kicking the summer off with a beach weekend out east! This look came in handy. It's perfect for May & early June when the weather is still transitioning into summer and the nights are very chilly. 

Now onto the color. You can find me in all white at least 80 percent of the summer, I mean even our stroller is white! Though I do love an all white look, I still wanted touches of color. I love the subtleness of the red and blue of  both Charlie's sweater and the towel. I also just want to point out, in the photo above the towel is draped on the back of the bassinet not over the bassinet. Even if you are not directly wearing something, anything that is going to be close by counts as part of your outfit in my book. Two things that will always be close by Charlie and Ford :)

Mother's Day is a very important day for me. Not because I'm a mom but because I have had such a strong role model to grow up with as my mother. Growing up I couldn't call her my best friend, we hardly got along. All I wanted back then was a "cool" mom, but she knew I needed her as my mother, not as my friend. Though she could be tough at times when it came to boyfriends and late nights, it's because she knew I needed boundaries. It took me years to realize that when I thought she was "against me" during my teenage years, she took the hard road and was the mom she knew I needed. She is such a warm loving person, it's no surprise at all that her Grandkids ask for weekends spent at Nona  & Pop-Pop’s  house. There is never a dull moment whenever you are around Nona, BABS, also known as my mother. Now many years later I'm so proud I get to not only call her my mother and our Nona but my very best friend as well.

Roscoe and Tory Brown are the brother-sister duo behind the Two Oh Three. Their story began about three years ago as lifelong enthusiasts of ‘The 203’. They found that they were becoming frustrated that despite all of their love for Connecticut, there wasn’t an easy way to express this pride. As a result of this frustration, they decided to launch their small lifestyle brand in the summer of 2014. They created a tee shirt that would give customers a tangible way to show their pride for their community.
